IFAD Supports “Reframing Rio” Project to Address Rural Poverty

25 April 2012: The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) has announced that it provided the Reframing Rio initiative with US$100,000 to promote the inclusion of rural poverty and issues affecting smallholder farmers in the discussions at the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD, or Rio+20).

Reframing Rio, a multimedia project of the NGOs tve, Inter Press Service (IPS), and the International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED), aims to focus the debate on how a green economy can contribute to poverty reduction and sustainable development. To this end, it is using written media, documentaries and short films that address sustainable development. [IFAD Blog News] [IFAD Webpage on Rio+20] [Reframing Rio Website]
